Program Objectives
The Children and Youth at Risk track is designed to provide Christ-centered and holistic training for those desiring to work with that growing segment of the population that is in crisis. For example, cities have an increasing number of homeless youth, often as a result of abusive homes. This program focuses on the issues of the street such as drug addiction, sexual exploitation, and gang activity, in addition to homelessness. The teaching faculty are practitioners coming from their ministry contexts to teach and share their considerable knowledge and experience with students.

In addition to the Master of Arts in Specialized Ministry Core Outcomes, the Children and Youth at Risk Track attempts to achieve specific outcomes:

  1. Be able to lead or work effectively in a children or youth at risk ministry.
  2. Know the perspectives, skills, and background unique to a ministry of children and youth at risk.
  3. Be a person committed to a ministry of children and youth at risk.
