Located in the heartland of Northern
California, our rapidly growing capital city of Sacramento fosters bustling commerce and industry,
while never sacrificing its rich history of agriculture and natural beauty. As a result of this unique
blend, Sacramento continues to draw a mosaic of souls from around the world. Indeed, Time Magazine
has recently called us the "most ethnically diverse city in America." And though hundreds
of churches serve the growing population, the need for loving and well-equipped ministers, counselors,
teachers and business people is ever more pressing. With this in mind, we believe that Western Seminary
Sacramento Campus is strategically positioned to equip people for ministry from this local and global
perspective.

Sacramento lies in the center of California's broad and fruitful Sacramento Valley,
72 miles northeast of San Francisco. Shielded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the east, the California
Coast ranges to the west, and the Siskiyou Mountains to the north, the city enjoys a mild climate
for most of the year. In the summer, however, “northers” blow from the Siskiyou Mountains,
bearing pollens and heat. This is mitigated by Sacramento's extremely low humidity and the cool
ocean breezes. The winters are mild but rainy. The annual average temperature is 59° F, with
an average annual precipitation of 17.18 inches. |
