Adjunct Instructor
Dr. Steve Stiles has been teaching addiction studies for
over 20 years. He is a graduate of the American Baptist Seminary of the West and is
certified through the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors. At
Western Seminary’s San Jose campus Dr. Stiles heads up the Addictions Studies
Certificate Program, which covers the whole spectrum of addictions. Dr. Stiles also
pastors New Life Center church in Santa Cruz and is the Clinical Director of New Life
Community Services, an emergency shelter and drug and alcohol treatment center (social
model, not medical model) which provides residential and outpatient services. In addition,
New Life Community Services launched an adjunct community based counseling center, Stratton
Counseling Services (www.strattoncounseling.com),
to also serve the general counseling needs of the Santa Cruz and surrounding areas.
He is also the author of four books, which are available on Amazon: Thorns in
the Heart, Recovery for Co-Dependency and his two most recent, Gotchyaa and Journey
on the Hard Side of Miracles: The True Story of Big Bad Green.
