Why Western – Admissions

Why Western

Western Seminary is a theologically conservative, trans-denominational graduate school that spans three west coast campuses and a distance learning community. Since 1927, we’ve trained men and women for strategic ministry roles in the pursuit of gospel-centered transformation. In that time, we’ve sent over 5000 graduates to serve God and others in a variety of relevant ministry contexts. We’re training more of those leaders, thinkers, counselors and pastors even now. We are driven by the conviction that nothing compares to the biblical gospel’s ability to change lives.

We hope that your heart resonates with our distinct approach to training:

Without Christ our mission is meaningless.

God’s inerrant Word is central to our teaching, and students explore each book of the Bible with an eye toward the gospel promise. That timeless truth then becomes the engine of restoration in our broken world. Learn more

Progressive delivery systems to compliment the realities of life. We offer courses at convenient times and locations, and present them through creative venues so that the seminary experience enriches life, instead of overtaking it. Learn more
Intentional opportunities to shape what you do and who you are. Required experiences like mentored field ministry, counseling practicum and international internships ensure that our students cannot graduate without putting their knowledge and skill to use.
Not just professors, but professionals making a difference both in and out of the classroom. Our faculty is made up of men and women who have trained, not just academically, but also who have been seasoned through years of ongoing ministry practice. Learn more
