Description of Agency:
Low cost counseling. Fees range from $5-$25 to see a counselor intern, $50-$95 to see an employed counselor.

| - Broad range of individual, couple and family services--they do not serve chronically mentally ill (unless they are stable under the care of a case manager), or substance abusers (unless solidly in recovery.) The Grotto also does not provide court-mandated anger management treatment. |

Student is to call the site for an interview in February or March.

Requirements:
The intern may be the only counselor in the building besides the receptionist at times, therefore interns need to be able to function autonomously. Maturity and prior counseling or life experience is preferred.
Specific Schedule Requirements?
The hours are flexible and negotiable. Group supervision is scheduled one time per month.
Stressors at this Site:
Because counseling staff are only there part-time, interns may feel a sense of isolation. The intern must be able to work independently and adjust to a Catholic setting.
Summary Comments:
No limit on number of sessions allowed for clients. Interns must be able to function autonomously, managing logistics of caseload such as collecting fees from clients and scheduling. There are currently three employed counselors in addition to the Director/Supervisor. The setting is lovely and the rooms are comfortably furnished.
