Internship Sites

Description of Agency:
kindergarten through 5th grade students. Social economically diverse, but not much ethnic diversity. Referrals come from teachers, parents, and students themselves.

Procedure for applying:
Students MUST submit a resume to Western Seminary's Site Coordinator to be submitted to the Gresham-Barlow School District office. Please DO NOT call the site directly!

Applicants need to be self-starters, not afraid to initiate contact with students.

7:45 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. weekdays--negotiable as to which days

Stressors at this Site:
There are only one or two counselors for the whole school, so there is some feeling of isolation and responsibility.

Summary Comments:
The supervisor is very creative in providing services to children. The physical facility is excellent. This school presents a good opportunity to experience the potential role of a school counselor.
