Getting There. The commencement ceremony will be held at Southwest Bible Church. If you need directions, click here.

Seating. Southwest Bible Church seats approximately 1,800 guests. We anticipate that we'll have enough room for each graduate and all family and friends, so we will not be distributing tickets for commencement this year. In the very unlikely event that we run out of seating in the sanctuary, guests may listen to the ceremony from the lobby (though it's not possible to see the stage from the lobby).

Attire. Guests often wonder what attire is appropriate for the commencement ceremony. Most people wear either nice pants or skirts/dresses. It's a dressy occasion, but not as formal as the banquet.

Children. Western Seminary encourages guests not to bring children under the age of five, or older children who cannot sit quietly for extended periods of time. Mothers of nursing infants are invited to bring their babies, but they're encouraged to sit near the rear of the room.

Cell Phones. Please turn off cell phones, and please remind your guests to do the same in order to not disturb others during the ceremony.

Reception. We will be having a cookie and punch reception following the commencement ceremony. This will be an opportunity to take photos with other graduates and faculty, enjoy some time with your guests, and celebrate your accomplishment.
