Western Seminary's primary way of communicating with you is by e-mail. We use email to notify you when you have been registered for a class, inform you of changes in the class schedule, and stay in touch about important issues. Therefore, it is imperative that you have an email address that you check regularly. If you've not used email before, there's no need to worry! Just call (503.517.1800) or stop by our Student Services Department and let one of the staff know that you need assistance in setting up and using an email address. We would be happy to help you get started.
We encourage you to get a campus mailbox during your first semester. To request a mailbox, submit this form with your signature. Professors use student boxes as the primary means of returning assignments, papers, and exams. Coursework can also be picked up from the instructor personally, but will be subject to faculty availability. Please be aware that campus mailboxes cannot be locked so it is not a secure means of communication with the seminary. Please do not have personal mail forwarded to this mailbox number.
You are welcome to schedule an appointment with a staff or faculty member any time. Some of our staff and faculty members schedule their own appointments, and others work with Bethany Dudenhofer, Executive Assistant to the Academic Dean, to do so. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact Bethany at 503.517.1856 and she will assist you accordingly.
