D.Min. Emphasis - Building Pastoral Theologians

Pastoral Preaching

These courses are designed to underscore the biblical mandate to preach the Word, to be a prophetic voice in an age desperate to hear "Thus saith the Lord." Courses will aim to fine tune a pastor's preaching skills, expand one's exegetical abilities, enable one to give attention to what God is saying, and develop one's effectiveness to reach the unchurched in a post-Christian generation.

Pastoral Administration

These courses are designed to develop the distinctives of pastoral leadership. Courses will aim to equip pastors to effectively lead churches in the mission of reaching the lost and building the saint. Other themes to be covered include vision setting, recruitment and development of leadership teams, effective promotion of change, conflict management, and administration skills that keep a church well ordered.

Pastoral Care

These courses are designed to affirm the high calling of spiritual direction and community building. Courses will aim to develop a pastor's ability to effectively listen to his congregation, build fellowship in the body, apply Scriptural truths to life issues, reach out and impact lives, engage in suffering and deal with crises, and mentor lives to become more like Christ.

Pastoral Spirituality

These courses are designed to impress upon the pastor the importance of his spiritual walk. Courses will aim to develop a pastor's intimacy with God, nurture his prayer life and ability to engage in trained attentiveness before God, and define and develop the theological framework for authentic pastoral identity and mission.
