No matter what we do in ministry, we all have opportunities to mentor others. But what does powerful mentoring look like?

At Western we learn to speak the Word powerfully and forcefully. But we also minister powerfully through personal relationship and influence. “Mentoring” helps a person discern and boldly act on God’s will. How can we move forward with others in mutual sharing and encouragement? How do we build trust so others can share their hopes and struggles with us?

As counselors, pastors, and everything in between, Western alumni have a breadth of mentoring skills and wisdom to offer each other. We are also stronger as partners for the gospel than as individuals. So we’ll develop a network of alumni partners. We hope CONNECT strengthens the partnerships among Western San Jose alumni, faculty and graduating students as we bring the gospel together.
