Dr.
David Dahl: David Dahl, Ph.D., M.Div. graduated from
the University of Minnesota with a B.A. Magna Cum Laude
in English and in German. He came to saving faith in
Jesus Christ in 1973 at L'Abri Fellowship, Huemoz, Switzerland.
He graduated from Luther Theological Seminary and was
ordained into the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada
in 1981. He has served 5 congregations in British Columbia
(10 years) and Northern California (13 years). He initiated
an interdisciplinary team which founded the White Rock
Hospice Society, chaired the British Columbia Synod
Church Leadership and Theological Education Committee
and has worked in a variety of mental health settings.
He has been trained at the Bowen Center for the Study
of the Family (3 years) in Washington, D.C. and earned
his Ph.D. in clinical neuropsychology from Pacific Graduate
School, Palo Alto, CA. David is married to Maritza.
They have 3 college and graduate school-aged children.
In addition to his private practice as a psychologist
and his commitment to pastoral ministry, he is an avid
masters swimmer, competing in open water swimming competitions.
Professional research interests include: the emotional
competence of clergy, the psychology of worship, the
application of Bowen Family Systems Theory to church
life and leadership. Dr. Dahl teaches in the MFT Program.
