Frequently Asked Questions

Why give to Western?

You probably receive a steady flow of urgent and very legitimate requests from ministry organizations. In our restricted economy, virtually everyone is feeling financial pressure. Churches and specialized ministries are struggling to pursue an effective operation within increasingly tighter budgets. Western Seminary is among them.  As you prayerfully respond to these requests, please consider three reasons to make Western Seminary a priority.

First ; by giving to Western, you will be directing resources into the very core of what God is doing. The spiritual leaders being trained today at Western are those who will carry out God's plan for building His Kingdom over the next twenty years.

Second ; by giving to Western, you will ultimately make an impact on thousands of people. It is like giving to every significant church, mission, and counseling ministry all in one concentrated gift. The faces of today's students at Western will become the faces identified with these ministries in the near future.

Third ; by giving to Western, you may actually be giving to yourself. Your financial gifts may be used to train the person who will become your next pastor or the counselor who walks you through your greatest personal crisis. One of these emerging spiritual leaders may become a cherished friend or a catalyst in your walk with Christ.

I understand that there are many significant ministries asking for your financial support. But as you prayerfully plan your giving portfolio, please consider making Western Seminary a priority.

Do you offer assistance in estate planning?

Yes. Western has partnered with the Ministry Advance Foundation to help you plan for your family's future. If you have any questions, please visit the Estate Planning link in the Advancements Services menu, or contact the Advancement Office of Western Seminary.

Can I make a donation online?

We are currently in the process of developing the tools to provide the service. Our desire is not simply to offer you the opportunity to make and designate your gift, but to check your giving history online. We will keep you posted on our progress. Until then, you may send your gift to:

Are my gifts tax deductible?

Yes. Western Seminary is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Gifts made to Western Seminary are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Do you accept vehicle donations?

While we greatly appreciate the desire to support the ministry, Western Seminary is not staffed to accept every vehicle or gift-in-kind donation. Gifts of vehicles will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Is Western Seminary a member of ECFA?

Western is a long-time member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, the most-honored agency providing financial oversight of evangelical non-profit ministries. You may visit the ECFA website at http://www.ecfa.org for more information.

Can I designate the campus to which I want to make a gift?

Absolutely. You may designate your gift to the campus of your choice.

Can you use volunteers?

Yes indeed. We recognize that perhaps the greatest gift anyone can make to Western Seminary is the gift of time. If you live near one of Western's three campuses, we welcome you to volunteer for a wide variety of ministry opportunities.
