Scholarship Giving Opportunities

The great majority of students attending Western Seminary could not do so were it not for the fact that each student's education is underwritten, in part, by many hundreds of friends of the seminary who invest generously in their training. Still, the challenge of striving to ensure that every qualified student who is called of God to Western has the financial resources to attend and graduate is daunting.

Western Seminary students increasingly rely upon the availibility of scholarship funding to make their education possible. It is an unfortunate reality that without assistance, many who graduate will be so burdened with debt that their long-term survival in ministry will be in jeopardy. A key part of the mission of Western's Advancement Department is to help secure the scholarship resources that help our students move from the church to Western classrooms to the ministries and fields of the world.

Here are some of the ways that men and women have chosen to invest in our students through the creation of scholarship opportunities:

Alumni Scholarship. Master of Divinity graduates of Western Seminary are eligible for a grant of 25% tuition costs for the Doctor of Ministry program.

R.S. Beal Scholarship Fund. This grant is awarded each year to a senior Master of Divinity student entering the Master of Theology program.

Carl Berg Memorial Scholarship. This endowed fund is for a student in missions training from Cascade Park Baptist Church.

Campus Crusade/Young Life Scholarship. Full-time employees of Campus Crusade for Christ and Young Life may be eligible for a grant of 30% of tuition costs.
