Coach Training at Western Seminary Sacramento
in Winter ‘08

Over the last decade, the concept of Life Coaching has taken the business world by storm. Now, the aims and results of coaching present the Church with a powerful communication tool for ministry as well. Western Seminary Sacramento is pleased to offer the foundational coaching course in winter 2008 to its students as well as other members of the community.

Program Director Norm Thiesen has recognized the great use for coaching within his work as a professional counselor and teacher. He recently commented, “Change is at the heart of the redemption story. Death to life. Darkness to light. Slave to free. Western’s mission—to be a catalyst and resource for spiritual transformation— captures a commitment to training leaders who want to change lives. Coaching is a skill-set that’s ideal for ministry leaders who desire to be catalysts in God’s transforming and action-oriented relationship with His people.”

The first course in the series, MCS500M - Coaching for Change will be offered during the seminary’s winter semester over two weekend sessions: February 1-2 and March 14-15, from 8:30am to 4:30pm each day. The tuition cost for this course is $760.00.

Coaching for Change is the required first step into an entire coaching program that spans seven courses in total, which can result in coach certification through the International Coach Federation (www.coachfederation.org). The entire set of coaching courses may be completed at any of Western Seminary’s three campuses. Prospective students may visit www.westerncoaches.net to learn more about coaching, as well as to find dates for this and other future courses at each campus.

The course is now enrolling, though enrollment is limited to only 30 students. Interested individuals should contact Director of Enrollment Management P.J. Oswald for instructions to register. He may be reached at pjoswald@westernseminary.edu, or by calling 1.800.250.7030 x4.
