There
is a wide variety of options in the master’s programs
of the Division of Intercultural Studies, ranging from a Children
at Risk track to a TESOL emphasis. Each faculty member brings
to the classroom the perspective of a practitioner, with many
years of cross-cultural experience. There is also the dynamic
of students who are here because of a commitment to serve God
by participating in His global purposes, resulting in stimulating
classroom discussions. An important dimension in all the programs
is a hands-on cross-cultural internship that helps to confirm
God’s leading in students’ lives. The size and design
of the curriculum and internship allows for a strong mentoring
component at the personal level of the entire learning experience
at Western.
