Patron borrowing card. To purchase a card, bring a picture ID that states
your California address. Community Patron cards cost $40 for three months, $80 for six months,
or $145 for 12 months.

Members of the community may purchase a Special Borrowers Card ($30
per year) that will allow them limited borrowing privileges (does not include Inter
Library Loan). Without the Special Borrowers card, members of the
community may still use library materials within the library, including the public-access computers

Any person who maintains a permanent address in California may apply
for a Sacramento Public Library card. There is no fee to acquire a card. To obtain a card, please
fill out an application at any Sacramento Public Library location. All applicants must show
proof of address and provide an ID number from one of the following:
California Drivers License, California ID, Matricula Consular, Military ID, Passport,
or Resident Alien card.
One card is issued per person and may be
used at any Sacramento Public Library location, as well as libraries
in Colusa County , the city of Folsom, Sutter County , and the
city of Woodland.
Library cards have two-year expiration dates and may be renewed at any Sacramento
Public Library location. There
is no fee to renew your card.

but they do not provide access to all library services or materials. Unaffiliated
borrowers are limited to 5 circulating items at one time and must
show a valid California driver's license or another photo ID and

applicant's name) when applying for privileges.
Unaffiliated borrowers may not check out journals or periodicals, or use interlibrary
loan, nor do they have off-site access to licensed electronic resources.
Prospective
borrowers may wish to consider joining the Library Associates. Annual
membership is $55.00. Members of Library Associates may borrow up to 10 items at one time. Information
