You also may choose to earn one hour of academic credit from Western Seminary by
attending the convention and completing additional coursework. This option, however,
requires pre-registration with Western Seminary for the course:

Note: This course begins January 7, 2008, and will require that selected portions of required reading and possibly other assignments be completed prior to the February start of the convention to encourage active , informed conversation during the two face-to-face meetings with Dr. Johnson during the convention. Details will be provided in the course syllabus.

Face-to-Face Meetings:

Dr. John Johnson, will be hosting two brief opportunities for fellowship and discussion during the convention. Students will meet Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The room location will be announced prior to the convention on this website.

How to Earn Academic Credit: Step By Step

  1. Download, complete, and submit the Western Seminary Non-degree Masters-Level Application Form. This is required of all students. As a non-degree student, you will not be required to submit college transcripts.
  2. Submit the $50 application fee.
  3. Submit the required six-question application essay .
  4. When admitted as a non-degree student, submit the Credit Course Registration Form with your tuition payment.
  5. Attend the National Pastors Convention 2008 in San Diego, attending and recording a total of 10 event sessions. (Download Academic Credit Course Attendance Reporting Form or use the form provided in your convention packet.)
  6. Attend the two conference discussions with Dr. Johnson at the conference.
  7. Complete the assignments required in the course syllabus.
