Coaching for Change Course Repeats in Jan-Feb 2009

Whether in the church or the workplace, people full of potential are feeling stuck in a rut. There's nothing "wrong" with them, but they are not moving forward. Can you help someone move from surviving to thriving, from a stagnant faith to a vibrant trust in God? Can you do something for someone whose life is totally out of balance? Coaching is a key skill set for those in helping relationships to assist others in moving forward in life and faith.

"Coaching for Change" (MCS 500) introduces the practice of Christian coaching. This foundational course was offered this semester, but will be offered again in the Spring. In this course, students build skills of coaching by learning and practice. Instructors are coaching practicioners who integrate biblical and theological rationale and reflection in understanding coaching in relationship to disciple making. Focus will be given to coaching people through differing types of change, including pro-active change, transitions, and transformations.

"Coaching for Change" is offered on two Thursday-Friday intensive formats on January 22-23 and Feb. 19-20, 2008 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. This is the prerequisite course for all other coaching electives offered at Western Seminary. To learn more about coaching and course offerings, please click here.
