Leadership Training for YOUR Church

The Center for Leadership Development is committed to the primacy of the local church and her training mission. Our goal is not to pre-determine the nature, scope or design of church-based leadership training, but rather to come alongside the local church to support each congregation's efforts to prepare the next generation of men and women for leadership, and to serve as a continuing education resource for those who are already in service.

As you consider leadership training, we encourage you to look beyond the pre-packaged program options that are so commonly available. Is yours a "pre-packaged" church? We haven't heard of one yet that is. Your church has unique people with unique needs in a unique context. Your leadership training program, too, needs to be able to flex to meet your church's various training interests.

So what are your training options?

BTWestern Seminary has partnered with BiblicalTraining.org to offer an increasingly-wide variety of courses featuring many of the nation's leading evangelical teachers and leaders. Audio or video sessions may be streamed or downloaded from the Biblical Training website at your convenience 24 x 7 x 365. Learners also...

  • Meet with other members of your church in online discussion forums to engage course ideas and content. A course mentor from your church or from Western Seminary helps guide you in your discussion to help students apply learning to your church context.

  • A course or learning module study guide will allow you to follow along with your instructor as they go through each course session.

  • Complete brief quiz at the end of each course or content module. The quiz is not designed to intimidate but to encourage learners to optimize the learning experience.

ChurchPerhaps you already have a robust training program in your church and you simply
want to supplement your efforts with world-class media resources from Western Seminary and BiblicalTraining.org. No problem. You have access to individual courses, learning modules and other resources at a very affordable price.

And if your church would like to have
learners receive a certificate from Western Seminary, your local training efforts can be combined with WSCLD courses to total the 35 "seat" hours recommended for certification.

facultyMany of Western Seminary's internationally recognized teaching faculty are available to preach, teach seminars, lead workshops
or retreats, or to consult in your church on
a wide variety of important leadership
topics. This training, too, can be part of your leadership development program and can count toward a certificate from Western Seminary.

Note: Faculty should be contacted directly. All matters of scheduling and fees are between your church and the individual faculty member and are separate from regular program costs.

* To receive a certificate from Western Seminary, at least 50% of the required 35 seat hours must be earned through the successful completion of WSCLD courses.
