The Master of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy is a professional graduate degree that prepares
Christian counselors to bring concern and care for the whole person through practice in church,
non-profit, clinical, or school settings. The program includes skill-based coursework, practicum
experiences, as well as a requirement to complete your own personal therapy. While the curriculum
satisfies Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT) requirements in the State of California,
it is also designed to allow graduates the flexibility to obtain licensure as a Licensed Professional
Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with minimal additional work.

“Western's MFT program not only teaches the science and tools
necessary for
practicing psychotherapy, but supports this education with biblical and theological courses that
nurture the soul. The seminary education is an invaluable foundation and a lifeline for Christians
going
into the counseling field. ”
