A Mouth, Proclaiming Truth Out of the Treasure of the Heart

We’re elated to see churches rediscover God’s call to social justice. And as they do, we’ve got to be careful to ensure that the Word and deed travel together. Jesus did exactly that – his message and his miracles were inseparable. He met physical needs while addressing deeper spiritual needs. So when even those who deny God take part in social concerns, we must do likewise, while also communicating the gospel that sets us apart. That’s why Western Seminary emphasizes the grasp and communication of biblical truth. This makes for vibrant and trustworthy preaching – whether it comes from a pulpit, wise counsel, the pages of a book, or the conversation of a blog. Our compassionate action becomes all the more compelling when it partners with good news about Jesus. Those who are speakers and doers of the gospel advance the Great Commission.
