Western Seminary Center for Leadership Development

Center for Leadership Development

Equipping God's people for service.

Western Seminary established the Center for Leadership Development to support the local church in equipping God’s people for ministry. Every church leader can use these tools to supplement the on-going teaching and equipping of those God has entrusted to them. We offer four non-credit certificate tracks: Foundations in Biblical Studies, Foundations in Theological Studies, Christians in the Marketplace, and Elder Training. Each of these tracks is comprised of high-quality and biblically sound instructional courses, offered at a low-cost to keep them accessible to you. To find out more about each track and view course listings, please visit our certificates page. Thank you for your service to Christ and to His teaching ministry.  We look forward to working with you!

What's involved in CLD courses?

  • Courses may be completed by individuals or church cohorts working at their own pace.
  • All classes are delivered through web streaming, averaging around 30 minutes per class.
  • Quizzes and study guides are provided for each class. Quizzes are required for each class for accountability purposes. No grade is issued.
  • Successful completion of a minimum of 20 hours in any certificate track entitles the participant to a Western Seminary non-credit certificate for that track.
