OPALL (Library Search)

Access to Western’s book, microform, periodical, CD and e-book holdings. The Online Private Academic Library Link merges the holdings of five Christian libraries in the Willamette Valley into one database.

The libraries include:

  • Corban University in Salem
  • Mount Angel Abbey
  • Multnomah University
  • Northwest Christian University
  • Western Seminary

E-book collection in OPALL

Over 68,000 e-books covering a wide range of subjects are now available through our online catalog or EBSCOhost. If you are searching the library’s OPALL online catalog and find a title which indicates that the Location is Western Seminary Electronic Book, you may access the book itself online by clicking on EBSCOhost under Linked Resources at the bottom of the record. If you are off campus, you may need to login to EBSCOhost. (Other schools also have records for e-books, but we can only access those which specifically say Western Seminary).

“The world’s largest network of library content and services. WorldCat lets you search the collections of libraries in your community and thousands more around the world.” Since Western has not subscribed to this database, our holdings will not be visible, so you need to check the OPALL OPAC first.

EBSCOHOST gives you access to scholarly, peer-reviewed literature in several psychological and religious databases. You may find full text online for many items. EBSCOHOST requires a username and password which will need to be acquired from Western's Library staff. More information...

GALE CENGAGE provides access to a variety of other databases. This also requires a username and password which will need to be acquired from Western's Library staff.

Alexander Street Counseling

For our counseling students, Western Seminary is subscribing to Counseling and Therapy in Video, Volume I (350 recordings), which “provides the largest and richest online collection of video available for the study of counseling, social work, psychotherapy, psychology, and psychiatric counseling. The wealth of video and multiplicity of perspectives in these collections allow students and scholars to see, experience, and study counseling in ways never before possible.” On the library computers, click the “A” icon to access. From off campus contact the library staff for access information.
