| Eating
Disorders,
Kimberly Davidson |
Shepherding
People with Eating Disorders
- Today, more than ever before,
women, men, teenagers, and some
children, feel the pressure
to be “perfectly”
thin, to diet and over-exercise.
This pressure is surfacing in
the form of a monster called
an eating disorder which doesn't
go away. For some, concerns
about weight turns into an obsession,
causing considerable weight
fluctuation, damaging body functions
and generally interfering with
day to day life. They develop
an abnormal attitude towards
food and their behavior becomes
secretive and peculiar. Emotional,
or disordered, eating is very
serious, and God has specific
processes for setting people
free. In this workshop Kimberly
will define the various types
of eating disorders, open the
window into the mind-set of
a person with an eating disorder,
discuss red flags, and offer
shepherding resources.
