Students'
wives, and female students, staff, and faculty members make
up Women of Western (WOW). This is a fellowship designed to
encourage women intellectually; provide opportunity for them
to develop skills in ministry and in their roles as wives and
mothers; and to foster their own moral, spiritual, and character
development. It also provides opportunities for leadership and
training in a practical, supportive environment. The fellowship
brings together women from diverse backgrounds who share common
goals. The group meets periodically during the fall and spring
semesters. Occasionally, special events are planned that include
the entire Seminary community.
WOW
events provide social interaction and spiritual enrichment for
all women and wives of faculty, staff, and students on the Portland
campus of Western. We desire to encourage & equip women for
their unique place in the world.

Mentoring
Groups or one-on-one
Women
students and student wives are encouraged to spend time with
3-6 other women and a mentor. This is a place to grow, experience
deeper friendships, and benefit from the experiences of mature
women. Personal mentoring may also be an option.
Partners
in Ministry
As
future ministry wives Western Seminary has a special interest
in you! There are many opportunities to help you grow and prepare
for ministry along with your husband. Some of these include:
mentoring, Learning Together program, Partners in Ministry Certificate
program, special events, and fellowship times. We want to help
strengthen the bond between you and your husband , encourage
ministry skills, deepen biblical understanding, and provide
mentoring relationships, as well as develop & nurture relationships
with other wives. Please enrich your time at Western Seminary
and avail yourself of some of these wonderful opportunities.
For more information on Partners
in Ministry.
Learning
Together Program
Student
husband and wife, as partners in ministry, have the opportunity
to learn together here at Western Seminary. Spouses are permitted
to sit in on classes at no cost. Learning Together (LT) was
established during the 1982-83 school year for the purpose of
demonstrating our commitment to preparing couples for vocational
ministry. The benefits should be obvious: husband and wife would
have additional shared experiences, and the spouse's personal
and ministry potential would be enhanced. For more information
on the Learning
Together program.
Please
contact the Women's
Center for Ministry for more information on WOW, mentoring
opportunities, Learning Together program or the Partners in
Ministry Certificate program.
