|
Phyllis
Bennett assumed her new role as Director Designate
of the Women's Center for Ministry on November 1,
2011. Phyllis graduated from Western Seminary with
a M.Div. - Pastoral Care to Women concentration -
and went on to earn her D.Min. from Gordon-Conwell
Theological Seminary in Effective Women’s Ministries.
Phyllis has also served as a faculty adjunct at Western
Seminary in the PCW program teaching two classes,
one to equip women to write Bible study curriculum
and a second to equip them to deliver biblically sound,
relevant and applicable messages for today’s
intergenerational audiences. In addition, Phyllis
has served as a Director of Women's Ministries and
as a pastor's wife in churches on both the east and
west coasts. From “sea to shining sea,”
she has been a popular retreat and conference speaker,
bringing her biblically insightful, shepherd’s
heart to each speaking arena, encouraging women to
embrace the Word of God in ways that lead to healing,
authenticity, new vision, and greater intimacy with
God and others.
Phyllis’s
passion is to inspire, encourage and train women to
use their spiritual gifts for the glory of God. Her
passion has led her to create ministry tools to empower
women for effective service. She has a heart for younger
women and desires to see WCM intentionally engage
them in ministry. Phyllis and her global-hearted husband,
Dave, have relocated from the Boston area to Washougal,
WA where Dave is taking up his new role as Chief Collaboration
Officer and Teaching Pastor for the Lausanne Movement.
They often travel and minister together. Dave and
Phyllis have two grown sons and four grandchildren.
