“I love my role at Western Seminary, partnering with faculty and my colleagues in Student Development, to shape students’ ministry character and competence. The gospel bring restoration and healing and the need for that healing can show up in the classroom as well as in relationship with others at the seminary. We have an opportunity to practice the restorative framework of the gospel in our interactions with students, hopefully in such a way that they take this gospel-centered approach to life and relationships back into their churches and transform them too.”

A Defining Moment

“I have always had an interest in cross-cultural work, starting from the first short-term trip that I took in high school. Following that trip I truly sensed my call to ministry and further preparation. However, it wasn’t until after stepping into pastoral ministry for a time and seeing the necessity of missions work grounded in the local church that I truly grasped what the church around the world was called to be together. I now have the privilege of serving and supporting some of these church workers in many different contexts around the world (in addition to my role at Western) and calling others in U.S. churches to see their role with the world-wide mission of God.”
