"During my distance mentoring groups, I want students to be aware of the presence of God. I do this, in part, by asking them to pay attention to what God is doing in their lives, and in the lives of those around them. How are they are being conformed to the image of Christ? How can the gospel become good news for others?"

A Defining Moment

"During the winter of 1994 I was asked to attend, and evaluate, a workshop on interpersonal skills, facilitated by Drs. John Powell (Michigan State University) and Ken Williams (Wycliffe Bible Translators). Meeting Dr. Ken Williams was a turning point in my life. Soon after that workshop, Ken became my mentor, and for 7 years we worked closely together, facilitating interpersonal skills workshops. His Humble personality and gentle approach helped me to develop a deep, abiding interest in facilitating adult learning as a means to discipleship."
