Tuition and Refund Schedule

Tuition for credit students is due in full on the Friday before the term begins unless you make regular, monthly payments through Western Seminary’s payment plan (available through SIS). Audit & Enrichment students cannot participate in the payment plan as their tuition and fee charges are due at registration.

Tuition Deadlines

Tuition for credit students is due in full on the Friday before the term begins, regardless of when your class meets. This includes Online C Session and Doctoral courses. Audit tuition is due at time of registration.

Payment Methods

Tuition for credit students is due in full the first week of each semester. All payments should be submitted online using S.I.S., our Student Information System. Making payments on line is easy, convenient, secure, and saves time. S.I.S. requires a username and password and is available 24 hours a day.  

To help keep your tuition costs low, Western encourages all students to pay by eCheck (electronic check) on SIS.  Students mailing checks can send them to Western Seminary, Attn: Cashier, 5511 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland, OR 97215.

Western also accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit cards on SIS. There is a 2.65% fee on debit and credit card transactions charged by Frontstream. You can avoid this fee by paying with eChecks or by mailing a check to Western Seminary.

Audit/Enrichment participants are expected to pay for classes upon registration.

When Is My Account Considered Delinquent

If payment is not received by the due date, your account is considered delinquent. A monthly late fee will be charged on all balances at the end of each month. In addition, your registration may also be cancelled for non-payment.

Cancellation of Registration for Non-Payment

If a student is delinquent on their account, Western reserves the right to cancel registration for non-payment.  Western Seminary does not have individual payment plans for students who are currently enrolled. Tuition must be paid in full unless the student has an approved TuitionPay contract.

A student may not register for classes, secure grade reports or transcripts or attend classes in any subsequent semester if he/she has not completed payment for courses already taken. If a student’s registration is cancelled, the student may not re-enroll until his/her account is cleared and appropriate payment has been made for new enrollment. Failure to pay a past-due account results in the account being turned over to a debt-collections firm. The institution reserves the right to add to the debt any collection and court costs subsequently associated with collection of the debt. See Collection Process for past-due accounts.

Refund Schedule for Dropped Courses

All course refund schedules are shown in our Student Information System, SIS. Please go to the Registration tab in SIS and click on Details to view the drop deadlines and refund schedule for each class.
