Logos Training Resources

Logos Bible software is provided to all current students in programs and taking classes for credit at Western Seminary. We want you to be able to use the software well in your study and preparation for ministry. Below are some resources that we have created and some other great links that we have found that will help you learn to use the software effectively.

    We can get a lot out of Logos when we have a basic understanding of how it works. In this training, you will also gain a greater appreciation of how to customize Logos for your specific study needs.

  • Logos 102 Online: Research and Writing (90 min)

    You have been equipped with an amazing theological library designed to help you as a student and in ministry. This training will walk you through the research process demonstrating how Logos can help you build a bibliography, cite sources, search for content, and stay focused on the primary text.
  • Logos 103 Online: Tools for In-Depth Bible Study (90 min)

    Logos excels in its ability to help you dig deeper into God's Word. In this training, you will walk through the process of exegesis, and learn how to set Logos up to interact with the original languages, do text criticism, and run basic to complex searches.
  • Ask Anything! (60 min)

    You probably have questions related to specific assignments or study needs.  Here’s your chance to ask the expert anything you want! Feel free to listen if you don't have any questions.

Training Resources Included in Your Logos Software

  • QuickStart for Logos 8: Follow the link to open this resource in your Logos library, or, once you've opened Logos, type "open quickstart" into the command box at the top of your screen, and you'll find 30 quick and easy training videos. We highly recommend you watch each of these videos to get acquainted with this program.
  • LT101LT102LT103LT104: Also included with your Logos package are four Logos Mobile Education modules created to familiarize users with the program. Access these materials by searching your library for LT101, LT102, LT103, or LT104.

  • Logos Student Training website with training videos (includes installation help).
  • Visit this library of free Logos training videos to help with everything from word studies to power search tips
  • If you encounter a software glitch, you may consider searching and contributing to the Logos Forum, where other Logos users may have an answer for you.
  • The Logos Training Blog is another great place to learn the latest tips and tricks to get the most out of your Bible software.
  • Another option is to post your question to your FaithLife group, where a Logos representative or Western employee will be able to help you out.
  • In addition to the Western Seminary FaithLife groups, we encourage you to join other FaithLife groups which can help you build collections in Logos, learn about new promotions, and receive Logos tips in your inbox.

Upgrading to Logos 8

If you were unable to update from Logos 7 to Logos 8 prior to December 10, your software will no longer automatically update. In addition, you will be missing out on a variety of updates and resources. To activate the update, follow these steps.
