Equipping You to Engage MA in Counseling in California

Western Seminary's Master of Arts in Counseling in Marriage, Couple & Family Counseling prepares counselors to care for the whole person and their relationships. This program offers skill-based coursework, internship experience, as well as a requirement to complete your own personal counseling. Since this program is offered at a seminary, it also unites biblical and theological studies in order to connect both Christian worldview and compassion to the counseling profession.

  • Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) Approved: Preparation for your career as a licensed counselor
  • Christian & Professional: Integrate your faith with your practice
  • Hands-On, Practical Training: Four semesters of supervised internship

"I came to Western asking a lot of questions about suffering and grief. What you end up learning is that you aren’t the one who gives all the answers to people in pain. Instead, you walk with them and let Jesus do the transformation.”Lisa Ramsey / KosovoInternational Counselor, CAMA

“Western's program not only teaches the science and tools necessary for practicing psychotherapy, but supports this education with biblical and theological courses that nurture the soul. The seminary education is an invaluable foundation and a lifeline for Christians going into the counseling field.”Michelle, MFTICalifornia Counseling Graduate
