Register for Coaching Courses

How you register depends on your status with the seminary and your learning goals.

Read through the following options to determine the registration process that fits you.

Hello! Let us know who you are by creating an S.I.S. account.

Every person interested in taking classes at Western is invited to create a Student Information Account (S.I.S.) Having this account access will allow you to register for classes, make tuition payments, and check on your course history. To get started, we ask for your vital information and have you review our statements of faith. Select Audit Coaching as your desired program of study. Create your account here.

If this is your first time having an account with Western and you haven't created a username/password yet, then click "I don't have an account" at bottom of page. From there follow the prompts. Once you log on to S.I.S. the first time there will be some obligatory notices, please read and check through those. Once done, there should be a menu on the right with an option for registration. If you don’t see a registration tab, then please contact Laura Miltenberger at This email address is being protected from spambots. Do you want to earn the Certificate in Transformational Coaching (CTC)?

The CTC is your path to earning a professional coaching certificate with the Internationl Coach Federation. You can apply before your first class or even after taking a class. (We don't mind you kicking the tires so to speak.) After creating your S.I.S. account you'll want to apply for the CTC. Review the CTC Handbook for all the essential information about the program. When ready apply using the CTC Application for Admission form.

While you're waiting for your acceptance, you are able to register for the Introduction to Coaching class on S.I.S.. More details will be in the acceptance email or use the CTC Handbook to guide you in the best way to register. Audit participants need to apply at least 4 weeks prior to their first class. Credit students need to apply by the admissions deadlines for the Seminary. Read the below Q and A for degree seeking students.

Sign up for your first class...

Great, you’ll want to register for Intro to Coaching (CO200 or CO500 ). Unless you plan on earning a degree at Western Seminary, you’ll likely want to enroll as an audoit student and register for the 200 level classes (if you do not hold a bachelor’s degree, the system may refer to you as an enrichment student — audit and enrichment are distinctions our accrediting agency requires us to make). And don’t let the term “audit” throw you:  most students take the classes as auditors and participate fully in the class. Audit students are not required to do homework assignments outside of class, however they are required to complete at least five hours of reading and get coaching feedback as part of the class experience (for CO501-508). There is no distinction between credit/audit/enrichment in terms of applying your training toward the CTC or ICF credentialing.

Do you wish to earn a Masters degree or Graduate Studies Certificate  from Western Seminary?

Super! Students usually choose this if they A) want graduate degree or B) want to take classes for credit and be eligible for financial aid. You will need to complete the Online Application for the seminary. And please talk to one of the seminary’s Admissions Counselors so they can walk you through the process and answer any questions you might have. Contact an Admissions Counselor.

Are you a current degree-seeking seminary student?

If so, then you already know the drill and you can register for coaching classes the same way you’d register for any other class using S.I.S.. Remember you must take Intro to Coaching (CO500) before taking any other classes. You can take coaching classes for credit (each class is 1 credit), or as an audit student. Refer to the tuiton and fees page for current coaching class rates.

Are you not sure if you want to earn a degree or not?

We have an option for you, too. You will want to enroll as a non-degree student and take the classes for credit. As a non-degree student, you are admitted for one semester and up to 12 credits without applying to a degree or certificate program. After 12 credits, you will need to be admitted to a program to continue to take courses at Western. Non-degree students are subject to the same deadlines and fees as regular students. Contact an Admissions Counselor.

Classes for Fall 2018 will be available for registration starting July 1st. Register as soon as possible to save your seat! Not ready to register yet? You can add the class to your registration cart without hitting "submit" so we know you're interested. Classes can fill quickly!
