Health Insurance

Due to the high cost of medical care, we regret that Western Seminary cannot assume the financial responsibility for hospitalization and medical expenses for students.  All students are to purchase health insurance or have current health insurance from their organization or family.  Enrollment for a health insurance plan must take place at registration or shortly after.

Below are some resources that you may use to solicit health insurance quotes. We are providing these for reference only and do not specifically endorse any of these companies or plans. There are a lot of options out there and so we encourage you to investigate carefully based on your needs and budget.

Health Insurance Options

A good website that provides health insurance information and quotes for a wide array of companies and policies is www.ehealthinsurance.com.  Alternative options include health sharing services that you may find online (www.chministries.org or samaritanministries.org are good places to start).

Affordable Care Act Changes

As the Affordable Care Act went into effect on Jan. 1, 2014, all United States residents are required to have healthcare coverage (save for paying a penalty). As such, the seminary assumes that students are complying with this requirement through employment or other means.
