Western Hosting NT Scholar Craig Keener on March 30

Craig Keener Gospels and Christobiography

March 1, 2023

How do we know that the gospels are reliable accounts of Jesus' life? In what way does understanding ancient biography help us appreciate the gospel writers' method and degree of accuracy?

Renowned New Testament scholar Craig Keener, PhD, will explore these questions and more at his presentation "Gospels and Christobiography" on Thursday, March 30 at Western Seminary.

Thursday, March 30, 2023
10 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Cost is $15 (lunch provided)
Portland Campus (Johnson Chapel)

Craig Keener is the F.M. and Ada Thompson Professor of Biblical Studies at Asbury Seminary. Dr. Keener did his PhD work in New Testament and Christian Origins at Duke University and is known for his work as a New Testament scholar on Bible background (commentaries on the New Testament in its early Jewish and Greco-Roman settings). Well over a million of his thirty-plus books are in circulation and have won 13 national and international awards.

All are invited to attend, but registration is required!

This event is part of a series of Gospel Gatherings sponsored by TogetherPDX, a local organization that seeks to connect and serve local churches, pastors, and leaders of the Portland/Vancouver area.
