Western Seminary is pleased to announce that Rachel Macor, PhD Candidate, is joining the core faculty team for the Portland and Online MA in Counseling program. Macor is completing her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of the Cumberlands (anticipated finish this summer), where she is wrapping up her dissertation entitled "The Perils of Avoidance: Illusory Post-traumatic Growth in Holocaust Survivors".

"We are excited about what Rachel will bring to the counseling program and the tremendous blessing she will be to our students," said John Y. Kwak, vice president of academic affairs and dean of faculty.

Macor received an MA in Psychology from Seattle University and works as a Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMHC) in the state of Washington. She brings to Western more than a decade of teaching experience.

“As a trauma therapist I love finding psychological principles of counseling and treating trauma in the Bible,” says Macor. “As a new faculty member at Western Seminary, I’m honored and excited to help equip the next generation of counselors, integrating biblical truths with clinical principles.”

Macor will begin teaching courses this summer at Western.
