Jim and Bev are looking forward to much rest and relaxation in retirement, including spending time with their six grandchildren and taking road trips in their RV. Their warm friendship, infectious laughter, and compassionate care will be missed by their colleagues at Western!

Dr. Bev Hislop is retiring after 20 years of service at Western Seminary. Bev founded Western Seminary's Women's Center for Ministry in 1996 and was the director of the program until 2013. Bev has also served as Professor of Pastoral Care, providing instruction for 20 years. jim

Dr. Jim Hislop is retiring after three years of service at Western Seminary. Jim took over direction of the Center for Leadership Development in 2013 and has since developed the five, non-credit certificate tracks that make up the CLD course curriculum. A passion of his, Jim has focused largely on the Christians in the Marketplace track, which provides a theology of work for Christians in ministry outside of the church. In addition to the development of CLD curriculum, Jim has also organized Co-Labor events in Portland, Sacramento and San Jose, which provided opportunities for Christians in the marketplace to connect and learn from numerous speakers on the topic of theology and work.
