Say Western Meets or Beat Expectations

Western Seminary is an evangelical graduate school, made up of students who are diverse in both ethnicity and vocational aims—but united in great love for Jesus and his gospel.

Men and women come to Western Seminary Sacramento campus to study theology, ministry practice, Bible, counseling, and coaching at a gospel-centered seminary. As a graduate school, Western offers students master's degrees as well as training programs for personal enrichment. Most students will complete their theological studies in the midst of ministry work and careers, thanks to our focus on convenient class scheduling options for on-campus courses and a robust catalog of online courses through Western Seminary Online campus. And small class sizes ensure that students enjoy personal attention from experienced professors who care deeply for their spiritual formation and ministry impact.

Western Seminary Sacramento campus is located in the capital city of California, near the juncture of the San Joaquin and Sacramento Valleys. Sacramento is a growing urban center in Northern California with a focus on technological, agricultural, and political progress, housing one of the most ethnically diverse populations in the nation.

The Sacramento campus was founded in 1991 on the campus of Arcade Church. The campus relocated to larger, upgraded facilities in the Rocklin area in 2014.

Sacramento Campus Facilities

The Sacramento Campus is well-equipped for an excellent learning experience. Housed on a large church campus, it offers three classrooms, staff and faculty offices, a student lounge, as well as robust on-site library collection.

Where Our Students live

This and all other Western Seminary campuses are non-residential, as we serve part-time and full-time students who wish to engage in seminary training without relocating. Students at the Sacramento campus may live near campus, but others come from homes and ministry contexts in the San Joaquin Valley and beyond–as you can see in the map below.

Don't hesitate to attend Western Seminary. The training I received impacted me personally, spiritually, and intellectually. The courses, professors, staff, and other students were a great resource in terms of helping me hone my skills, detecting areas of growth and what to do about it, and helping me to make God my focus – not education.
