Doctor of Intercultural Studies Program Purpose Statement

The Doctor of Intercultural Studies (DIS) is an advanced professional degree intended to aid in the development of leadership for the worldwide church. The program is designed specifically for those who are faced with the challenge of a pluralistic society and who work within an intercultural context.

The three-fold purpose of the program is to:

  1. Inform students of the essence of Gospel-centered transformation by highlighting the relevant element within the content of each course;
  2. Inspire students to relate the truth of Gospel-centered transformation to class material for personal growth towards spiritual maturity;
  3. Implement the truth of Gospel-centered transformation in career development and professional ministry in ways related to the content and intent of each course.
