Commencement Weekend on July 8th and 9th, 2016 was full of celebration and excitement as Western Seminary San Jose launched 44 new graduates!

From conversations, good food, sharing memories, hugs, laughter, words of encouragement from faculty and administrators to the Class of 2016, and worship through song and prayer, to grads being hooded and receiving their diplomas, and cheers erupting from family and friends, these were all elements of a memorable and significant weekend in the life of Western Seminary San Jose. Over the course of both days, Patrick Lai, Muna Farhat, Kate Cheng, Tyler Cole, and Joanne Kim shared about the transformation and growth they experienced in their lives as a result of their studies, the instruction and mentoring they received from their professors, the great interaction and friendships they developed with classmates, and the work of the gospel in their lives as they encountered “life” in the midst of their journeys.

The same theme that is ever-present with so many as they move on from Western is that they are changed, different people now than they were when they began. Hearing the testimonies of God’s work in the lives of graduates as a result of their experiences while at Western never gets old. There are now 44 new Western graduates who are better equipped to serve and love their God and King by loving, leading, shepherding, discipling, counseling, and supporting the people entrusted to their care. Congratulations to the Class of 2016!
