The Certificate in Transformational Coaching

Program Objectives

Western Seminary offers the Certificate in Transformational Coaching program for individuals who desire focused coach training that prepares them to coach on a professional level and which can be applied toward credentialing with the International Coach Federation (ICF) on the ACSTH path to the Associate Certified Coach (ACC). Additional training is available through the Advanced Certificate in Transformational Coaching that follows the CTC program and can be applied toward the ACTP path to the ACC. The certificate program can also be combined with the Master of Arts (MA) in Ministry and Leadership program, Master of Arts (MA) in Global Leadership, and the Master of Divinity (MDiv) with electives in coaching to prepare for various leadership roles in ministry.

Students can enroll in this program for graduate credit or non-credit status.

Admission Requirements

Students entering the Certificate in Transformational Coaching for graduate credit are expected to present a baccalaureate degree and give evidence of Christian faith, character, promise, and maturity. The same admission standards, materials, and procedures as for the Graduate Studies Certificate program are required.

Students entering the Certificate in Transformational Coaching on a non-graduate degree status are expected to give evidence of Christian faith, character, promise, and maturity. Students wanting to establish an audit account and register for classes will fill out the CTC application for entry to the program.

Certificate in Transformational Coaching Requirements

Please note: There are three components to the certificate: coach training, coaching supervision, and coach certification. Once you have completed the requirements below, are assessed, and apply for certification, you are then awarded the CTC certificate which can be used to apply for credentialing with the International Coach Federation using the ACSTH pathway.

Coach Certification

Following the completion of the coach training, supervision, and mentor coaching, students submit one assessment exam recording (30 minutes) demonstrating ACC level competencies as defined by the International Coach Federation (ICF). Completing the CTC successfully will allow you to apply for ICF credential using ACSTH pathway. Completing the additional Advanced CTC successfully will allow you to apply for ICF ACC credential using the Approved Coach Training Program (ACTP) pathway.
