Western Seminary will be following applicable federal, state, county and city guidelines as it pertains to COVID-19. 

Recent Updates

Effective March 12, 2022, the mask mandate will be lifted for Multnomah, Placer, and Santa Clara counties. This lifted mandate is for indoor public spaces; masks will still be required for some settings such as public transit and medical settings. 

Although no longer required to be worn in the classroom, masks will continue to be made available for those members of our community who would like to wear one.

Class Attendance Guidelines

We ask for students to stay home and not attend class if they are feeling sick or have a fever (over 100.4).

If you have tested positive or been exposed to Covid-19, we recommend following CDC guidelines for quarantine. Should you miss class due to testing positive or needing to quarantine, please communicate with your professor directly.

If you attend class and shortly after test positive for Covid-19, please inform the Student Services team for your campus and they will notify the professor and class of exposure while maintaining confidentiality. Cleaning and Sanitizing

Classrooms and bathrooms will be cleaned and disinfected regularly. Please do your part during class breaks, lunch, and the like, to wipe down your area after use and to make sure to use CDC guidelines for proper hygiene and handwashing.

What COVID-19 guidance are you following for the rules and regulations put in place?

Western Seminary remains committed to doing all we can to help ensure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. As such, we remain committed to following CDC guidelines as well as local county guidelines for each of our locations. 

Can I bring food and drink?

Drinks are permitted inside the classroom, but eating is encouraged to take place outside of the classroom during breaks.

What if I feel sick or come down with a fever?

If you are feeling sick and have a fever (over 100.4), please stay home, and connect with your professor to determine how to stay current with any missed classes to ensure you do not fall behind.
