Financial Aid

Your Western Seminary training will carry value that lasts for a lifetime of Christian service — it will also carry the tuition costs of training at a premier ministry training school. Fortunately, we offer financial aid such as grants, scholarships, and student loans to help make your training affordable, and you can arrange a payment plan through the business office.

Our financial aid staff is available to help you make responsible decisions about paying for school today so that your future in ministry won’t be hindered.

  • In order to qualify for most kinds of financial aid, students must be enrolled at least half-time in an academic program and must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
  • It has always been Western's best practice to award students the maximum amount of financial aid they are eligible for, up to 20% of total tuition. Students who apply for multiple grants and scholarships may be awarded more than one, but not to exceed 20% of their total tuition. Please read Western's grant stacking policy for more information.
  • Non-degree, Coaching, and Audit/Enrichment students are not eligible for financial aid.
  • The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a free application that helps students determine their eligibility for federal financial aid. The FAFSA is NOT an application for aid at Western Seminary. In conjunction with the FAFSA, you must also complete an application for the type of aid you are seeking (including loans) in your SIS account.

 Aid Disbursement Dates:

Students who apply to receive federal and/or institutional aid prior to the application deadline (as stated above) can anticipate aid disbursing to their student account approximately 10 days prior to the start of the next term.

Students who apply for aid past the deadline can anticipate aid disbursing to their student account leading up to and through the first week of the term.

Any students who apply for aid past the start of the term will have eligible aid (e.g. Title IV federal loans) disbursed on a rolling basis within the first week of the term that is starting.
