Application to Graduate

The deadline to submit an application to graduate is November 16, 2018.

Participation in the commencement ceremony is a requirement for all programs, except the Graduate Studies Certificate and Graduate Studies Diploma. To graduate in absentia, students must submit an academic petition at least six weeks prior to commencement.

Academic Regalia

We will order your cap, gown, hood, and tassel using the height and weight that you provide on your application to graduate. In order to minimize graduation costs for you, we order a nice quality, but not the finest available. The regalia is from an eco-friendly line of gowns, reusable, and yours to keep. There is no extra fee in addition to the application to graduate fee (see Graduation Requirements).

Your hood and tassel will be one of two colors:

  • Red is for the master's level ministry degrees: MA(BTS), MAML, M.Div.
  • White is for the master's degree in Counseling as well as in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Regalia Care

Please plan on steaming your gown prior to commencement. Do not iron the velvet portion of the hood as it may cause damage to it.

It usually takes the Registrar's Office about 6-9 weeks to confirm and ship diplomas post graduation. Graduates will receive diplomas by mail, provided that the following conditions have been met:

  • All final grades have been submitted by faculty and the graduate's degree has been certified.
  • All account balance has been cleared with the Finance Office.
  • The Financial Aid Exit Interview has been completed (for graduates who received federal loans)
Legal Name

Like your transcript, your diploma will be an official document. Therefore, we will be using your full, legal name. If you have legally changed your name prior to graduating, you must submit a Name Change Form prior to the last week of the semester in which your degree will be certified.
