The Certificate in Transformational Coaching

Program Objectives

Western Seminary offers the Certificate in Transformational Coaching program for individuals who desire focused coach training that prepares them to coach on a professional level and which can be applied toward credentialing with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) on the ACSTH or Level 1 path to the Associate Certified Coach (ACC). Additional training is available through the Advanced Certificate in Transformational Coaching that follows the CTC program that can be applied toward the ACTP path to the ACC and/or PCC. The certificate program is an excellent supplement to the degree programs currently offered through the Seminary.

Students can apply coaching courses to select degrees via the Advanced Standing process.

Admission Requirements

Students entering the Certificate in Transformational Coaching are expected to give evidence of Christian faith, character, promise, and maturity. Students wanting to establish an account and register for classes will fill out the application for entry to the program.

Certificate in Transformational Coaching Requirements

Please note: There are three components to the certificate: coach training, coaching supervision, and coach certification. Once you have completed the requirements below, are assessed, and apply for certification, you are then awarded the CTC certificate which can be used to apply for credentialing with the International Coaching Federation.

Coaching Supervision and Assessment: 2 credits

Logged Coaching Experience Hours

Coach Certification

Following the completion of the coach training, mentor coaching, logged hours and competencies assessment, students submit one assessment exam recording (30 minutes) demonstrating ACC level competencies as defined by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Completing the CTC successfully will allow you to apply for ICF credential using the ACSTH or Level 1 pathway. Completing the additional Advanced CTC successfully will prepare you to apply for ICF ACC or PCC credential using the Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP) pathway.
